Hello COC! I've been inactive from this group as I have had to limit my chess activities. Gotta work, ya know! :D
But I've trimmed down some games and a Thematic VC Tournament sounds like fun. I didn't even know it was going on which was too bad as I saw you played some interesting openings vs. TKD (Ruy Lopez, Marshall Attack and Alekhine, 4P) - and successfully, I must add! :-)
I'll join the next round. Were the Cochrane and/or Semi-Slav our choices? I am an expert in neither but I'll do my homework, if that's what we want to play.
They were one of a list of suggestions from Pyrotechnica, but the ones I favored the most. They would still need to be accepted by Sicilian GPA.
Okay. If you're still open for suggestions, how about the Evans' Gambit or the Perenyi Attack in the Sicilian? Just thought it might be in our "Gambit Ears" spirit. ;-)
Anyway, I'm in. Let me know when the round starts.
Honestly I dont really care what it is, we just need to come to a consensus. And somewhat quickly. I need to post our white opening to the HQ forum shortly and once they agree, the challenge can be sent out. I still keep asking for the Blackmar Diemer Gambit....

Otherwise if we're choosing between the Semi-Slav vs. Cochrane, I'd like to try the former. I am not a d4 player but the Semi-Slav is pretty solid as I understand it.
I play almost entirely 1..d4, which may be telling in itself. 
Lets take another day or two to decide, then I can post it to GPA for their approval.
Sorry Dr Chess, do not feel i'll, but I've posted our challenge to GPA as the Russian Game, Cochrane Gambit. If it is not accepted, we can choose either semi slav accepted or BDG.

The next round is starting, and we've been hurting lately for participation. Who is interested in joining the games for the next round? If we don't get people signing up, we may have to bow out of the tournament. I have only seen 1 or 2 people active lately, which is just not enough.
We are playing the Sicilian Grand Prix Attack. Their challenge is the GPA, ours will be either the Semi Slav Defense: Accepted D44 or the Russian Game: Cochrane Gambit C42.
