WCoCO White Links and Results

The World Cup of Chess Openings is finally under way.  There are eight teams competing in the White tournament, and the plan is to make it a 5 round Swiss.  When 7 of the first round games are completed, the plan is to ask dpruess to adjudicate the result of the 8th game, and then use the first round results as a basis to calculate the second round pairings, winners vs. winners and losers vs. losers.  Round 1 links are as follows:

- Sicilian Grand Prix Attack vs. The Radical Ruy Lopez 1-0
- The Radical Ruy Lopez vs. Sicilian Grand Prix Attack  1/2-1/2
- GAMBIT EARS vs. The Killer Derivatives  1/2-1/2
- The Killer Derivatives vs. GAMBIT EARS  0-1
- Queen's Gambit Gurus vs. 1.b3 Nimzo-Larsen Attack  0-1
- 1.b3 Nimzo-Larsen Attack vs. Queen's Gambit Gurus 1-0
- King's Gambit Players vs. Red Army 1-0
- Red Army vs. King's Gambit Players 0-1

As discussed in the rules, I'm going to get a titled player to adjudicate the result of the final remaining game, and then announce the pairings for the next round.  A lot of interesting games this time out.  This is shaping up to be a great tournament.

May not need to adjudicate as our game with The Killer Derivatives is looking drawish.

Thanks to 1.b3 Nimzo-Larsen Attack for some very interesting games.  We were perhaps a bit lucky there, but you fought on skillfully to the end.

Thanks for the updates Riga, and thanks Pyro for keeping the group informed of our results etc.....  Ought to be a good fight between King's Gambit and the Gambit Ears this round. In the 2 prior meetings we are += against gambit ears.
