Ok, now what? How to find a game?

If you want to play "live" chess just go to: Play and select something from Bullet, Blitz, or Rapid (see link below)
Live chess is a game in one sitting, you can choose a time setting for how long you get, from 1 minute each all the way up to 60 minutes each or even longer in custom settings. Not many people play long live games though so it would probably take a while to find a match.
If you select Daily from the time controls menu, then Daily chess is for games which can last days, months or even years. You can choose a time control of 1,2,3,5,7 or 14 days. This means that if you choose 3 days for example, each player has 3 days to make a single move, hence the games can last a long time.
As to who to play, you can select either a friend or a random player and in your settings you can select certain things, like the rating range of your opponents eg. +/- 200 from your own rating to ensure you play against someone of a similar level.
Hi Everyone! On Saturday, November 23rd at 10:30 a.m. there will be casual chess play for all ages and levels at Provision State Coffee, 848 Farmington Avenue in Berlin, CT. This is not a club and there is no cost to play, just a group of friends getting together occasionally. I will be there til noon (or longer depending on who shows up). The coffee shop closes at 2 p.m. Bring your own board. Hope to see some of you there. I also created a Facebook Page, "Chess at PSC" where events will be posted.
