level 14 log can kill level 13 archers and bomber
and level 14 log can kill level 12 wallbreakers

Well, if you it like this, then you can level up a Princess to level 14, which can survive level 12 Log. I guess it just really depends on generally how high your levels are, and what interactions are more important to you

you should only use your book when going from level 13-14
Or from level 12-13, at worst, if you already have a book, and there is one that is yet to be collected in the pass or somewhere else.
