in the Torah the only rule repeated in all of them is that if someone takes a life, their life shall be taken
What do you think about the death penalty?

Also strictly speaking if it's legal to kill in self-defense, it's best to do so. It's better to take an attacker's life than risk your own, or your family's. Also, if they escape, they might murder someone else later.

true, however if it can be avoided to take a life, such as with an intruder stopping device such as byrna, then you avoid the psychological and physical repercussions of killing someone

Honestly letting them go would be a huge issue. Should they actually kill someone, you'll be traumatized that you didn't take the chance to save a life.

if they killed someone before you got there, would you feel more peace killing them?

I honestly don't know how I feel about this its just an interesting thing to ponder

I believe the death penalty is fine if the person has commited a series of high level crimes, as long as the death is as painless as possible
South Africa removed the death penalty, now crimes are more than back when we had it, people aren't scared of rotting in a jail until they die, people are scared of dying by death penalty

Personally I'd far prefer it to being locked in a jail for the rest of my life. It is more dignified and is less traumatizing. However, I think people should be given the option between, say, life imprisonment or death. Why not let them choose if they both amount to the same thing?

well, if you committed a crime worthy of either you would lose your rights and the ability to choose so
Personally, I believe that people who repeatedly commit crimes in an obnoxious way should be hanged. What do you think?
