US Chess is already non existent!. They're a 3 million dollar organization trying to serve all of america. That's just $60,000.00 per state. There is no state that could be drastically changed with just $60,000.00!!!! Sadly the internet is more influential than any national federation. Chess has gone from a million dollar past time to a billion dollar industry in the last 5 years. Real world Chess Clubs need to run like businesses. They must produce a profit. Chess.com is a $100,000,000.00 dollar company, Magnus sold Chessable for $88,000,000!! Nipo owns Chess 24. Real world chess is real work! it's a vocation.
US Chess has been making promises about it's coaching program for over 5 years. US Chess rules now prohibit everyone under 13 from coaching and refereeing chess regardless of rating or number of games played. Yes, Experts and Masters under the age of 13 are not allowed to coach or referee in America!! The SAFE Act rules are so peripheral to self governed players that we don't qualify for a SAFE Act representative!!!!!
The organization is 75% children and their parents don't know how to play or compete.
Organizers have reduced the tournament time controls to appease naïve parents and spectators. The whole purpose of chess is to increase a person's capacity for long periods of purposeful concentration. Why do we let people who've not acquired that benefit of chess, tell us how long a game should take?! That's just dumb!?
Organizers also let players and parents believe that the prize sections represent success markers. 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800, 2000. Keeping it simple, your window for unders are 35 points to win and 250+ points to learn! 1100's should be in the under 1400 unless their rating is 1165 and they are there to win. if there rating is in the 1200's they should be playing to win the under 1300 at 1265 or playing to learn in the under 1500 or under 1600
If you've never read a chess book cover to cover including the notes on a board, if you've never watched 25 whole games win, lose, or draw, in your favorite opening, or if you've never watched the games of the world championships, you don't need a federation, you need to read something written by a grandmaster!!!
