I read the first and second book, then thought "Why the hell should I waste time on this? I'll just read the Harry Potter books again". So I did.

I think I'm the only one here who read it and liked it.
I guess it's because I like any mythology but in my opinion it's a good book.

No worries, both my brother and friend think it is the best book he wrote. I understand where your coming from.
My favorite genres of reading are fantasy and science fiction. They are actually very similar. I think my favorite book is tied between the Inheritance Cycle and Ready Player One. So what is yours? My other favs are House of the Scorpion, Lord of the Flies, and Dune. Tell me what is yours?
