What programming languages do you all use (or learning)?

I use python mostly, but I also know some HTML and CSS.

python and c#

and also java

Python is my preferred one because it's so well supported. I also dabble with HTML & CSS but strictly speaking these are not programming languages as such.

I'm a full stack developer - so do both backend and frontend work

javascript, typescript, java, kotlin, shell scripting, react (jsx), jquery, css, html (with templating - nunjucks, ejs, handlebars) + sql

Love open source - not a big fan of Microsoft or Apple

The right language for the job.

Go-Lang for server side applications, or C if performance is key. Then I use PHP and JavaScript for websites. I'm familiar with PHP; switching to Python or Node doesn't add enough additional value to switch right away.

Then Bash or Node for server scripts.

that is also a lot of programming languages. how do you learn all of them? do you sometimes get confused between them?

I have > 20 years experience and it's not just a job for me, it's a hobby. I mostly self learn (don't really go on training courses + I'm a contractor). I also change projects/jobs on average once every 18 months - so I'm always working on new-ish technologies.

And yes sometimes I do get confused! for instance, I forget to put a semi-colon at the end of a java line because I've been mostly working in javascript where I dont use semi-colons - but it's all very similar. The big thing to learn is functional programming - that takes some getting used to. Switching languages is not that difficult IMO

Brother, Html,CSS, node, angular are not programming languages, They are languages in web developing

It still takes some times to learn them fully, so they are basically an equal to programming languages.

I don't get why we need so many programming languages. If I have one for web development and one for backend, I don't know why I need so many. For example, if I know javascript and python, why do I need to learn stuff like node, java, R, and C++?

different game launchers use different programming language some program languages allow better games and are complex while some don't but are simpler
