What's your ELO?

I found a fun Elometer test earlier today that I thought I would share with all of you!

I recognize not all of us are tournament players, and I imagine some of us have little to no interest in playing in rated tournaments, but a few of you may be curious to know where your tactical and positional awareness lies in chess. I originally found this in a John Bartholomew video and decided to give it a try.

According to this test, my ELO is around 1970 [1846-2095]. I thought my results were rather interesting as it's rather close to my average tactics rating on this website as well as a few others.  I should note that a 30-second timer is activated at the start of every problem in Bartholomew's video; however, I didn't see one when I took the test.  So I'm not sure if you're being timed or not.  It seems like the test has been updated since Bartholomew took it; But if it is timed, then I definitely failed quite a few problems and still managed a 'Class A/Expert rating' by USCF standards.surprise.png Also, if you're going to take it, you might want to make sure you have roughly 30 to 40 minutes to finish it in one sitting!phpxRykNz.pngSo give it a try and share your results!

*I don't think the results of this test are entirely accurate in reflecting anyone's actual ELO rating, but I think it's a solid assessment of your tactical and positional awareness and worthy of a try.*

I have taken this test before and it has told me I'm about 1796.
