What's your favorite unusual opening? Mine is the closed variation of the Scillian. 1. e4 c5 2. Nc3

Lavidaeshermosa

how is that unusual?

It's not played as much. It's a "What in the world is this guy doing?" move. Most people like Nf3, but if Nc3, (I've played against people with this opening) players I play against stop for a few more seconds than usual and think, "What is this?"

a3 a3 a3 a3 a3 a3! i play it AlL the time idk if it is Unusual but i love it!

it is just like playing black ( which i honestly like better than white )

with a little move to stop his knight! just check out my game against WestSlopeKid i am playing it!

What if 1. a4 e6/e5?

I like A White setup of 1.c3, Nf3, Na3-c2, d4, g3, Bg2, and strive to get our N to f5. From there, it can often be soundly sacked on g7 or h6. It's kind of like the Wade defense for Black.

It is almost never seen in tournament chess, and is no worse than the Ponziani in that it doesn't lead to an automatic loss.

Another really interesting rare line is the Pierce Gambit. It's probably not quite sound, but it's fun.

Mine is to play Knight to e5 in the sicilian after white takes on d4.

1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Ne5 *

another of my Ne5 victories, its good in blitz and short time games. the idea behind it is that i try to tempt my opponent into opening an early f4, or simply have them attack the knight. and i get to put it on g6, after which i will start working with 2 knights and the open f-diagonal on white's kingside. i play this because many people dont play it or seem to be able to understand it. the first time i played it was when i was paired with my friend in a tourney, and i knew that if we played plain theory in this B32 Sicilian the best i'd get was a draw, then came Ne5, my opponent lost 25 minutes in a 1.5hr game trying to figure out why i had played it and in the end he just played f4.

Vash, if White plays Bf4, Ne5 seems to work, but what if white plays 5.Nc3 e6 6.Be2 Nf6 (or 6...a6) 7.f4! It seems that you are tempting them to play a good move!

This is what the stronger players have done when faced with 4...Ne5, and as far as I can see, they win just about every game.

Mine, is orginal, it best for black and is a defensive then aggresive opening, I will show a few variations:

In a Perfect world:

A non-perfect world:

And so on, the point is to concentrate on the 4 center squares quickly and rapidly before they understand what I am doing, it is meant to force a slow, careful game where the pressure builds and builds until someone makes a mistake. Most of the time it is them, because they aren't used to this opeing and I am, it is not perfect and I have not met evey oppostion, but it is building
