What's Your IQ?

That is true- and how that number is measured is controversial in itself.

Say something smart tb83. I doubt your IQ is 184. You said the only subject you were good at was math, which means the IQ test was probably math based. Your personality and career are slightly unusual for someone with an IQ of 184. Not saying it's impossible, considering there are many people with high "IQ's", who are pretty normal. But I took an IQ test once, and scored 98, when my real "IQ" is probably much higher.

IceStorm78, it is a good question. It is a good subject for discussion.
If tpb83 says he scored 184, I am in no position to dispute that. I don't know him at all.

No it's not.IQ doesn't matter.How happy are you?
Seasonally adjusted, I'm happy enough.

@Akatsuki64. Cool name. The same number for pie. To answer your question the test was entirely based upon spatial intelligence ( The ability to visualize shaps and put them together correctly or recognizing patterns in rows and files of various shapes and then showing what the next shape/pattern will become.) so yes your correct that only one aspect out of 7 posssibe types of intelligence was asked on the exam, but the idea was to make the test as universal as possible to everyone. Intelligence is not the amount of knowledge you have, but how fast and efficent your brain can absorb new information. Wisdom is often confused with intellect. Both are completly different in that one must live long enough as anyone else to understand that life is a moving film, not a picture...frozen. Wisdom is accumulated from experience vs Inellect is attained through learning new information conceptually.
So how to test the I.Q. of an individual? I suppose the military thought they would get the best reading from a spatial point of view. So yes, if I took a different kind of exam ( though Standford-Binet is an official one.)that required a knowledge of trivia or facts I probably would have scored lower.
Have a Good Day!

I looked at that list and was happy to see that both Kasparov and Judit Polgar were on the list.

I thought, that comment might be inappropriate... it was the link to a list of 10 persons who achieved the highest IQ in history.

People say that spatial intelligence measure mathematical ability and overall intelligence, but I find that completely absurd. People also claim that the spatial intelligence assesement is the single best measurement of one's intelligence. I know people with very high spatial IQ's but appear to have a normal intellect. Spatial intelligence is just that, spatial intelligence, nothing more. I'm not sure what it means exactly if you score high on a spatial intelligence test.

For example, OCD has been proven to affect spatial intelligence. However many people with OCD are good in other areas. People with savant syndrome may have lower IQ's but special abilites. To narrow the intelligence spectrum to an IQ test, without considering the broadness of intelligence, to me, is foolish.
184. Standford-Binet Examination. I took it when I joined the 22nd Royal Army Infantry.
