True words, blue eyes
I Think the better way to improving is be like you are, i have played with so many ppl and some of them think in a way of "be fun, die young". Hope you understand that. The true is that i know some of them like my hand so i know that all ppl i know that play chess play like they are, but the best way is to be a debaser
Hello, I'm not sure what your forum policies are, but decided to post this anyway :P
Chess can be intimidating when first starting. The way the pieces move to figuring out where the mate is...3 moves down the road. It can be a daunting task to figure out where to start improving your game. Many people (including myself) seemed to take the logical step of, Opening, middle, then the end game. While this works, I found that the sheer number of openings and defenses, meant I spent way to much time on the beginning aspects of my game. I would start a game strong, earn a large advantage, only to loose it, due to poor end game skills. From this i'm of the opinion that a balanced game is superior to a game that is overly strong in one aspect. So returning to the original premise. Where do you start improving your game? If i had to answer that i would say with "a decent balance of everything" Let yourself learn a little of everything, not just one aspect.
This is just my .02 cents :) maybe it'll be helpful to someone. Maybe it won't. Maybe i'm way off. Just my thoughts though.
