To be honest with you. I don't know. If you take a look at some of my games as white and black in speed chess you will understand why. I do not recognize openings very will when someone says I use a variation of sorts but the moves seem to come naturally to me sometimes. I do tend to use the Ruy Lopez as white though. Why don't you look at some of my games in blitz and tell me what you guys and gals think :D? I could use some comments and some opinions anyway. I am trying to prepare for a  big tournament that begins at the end of October so I am running out of time lol. I don't really study book openings the way other players do. For instance. My USCF rating is 770 and it is a provisional rating still. I don't get out very much to tournaments lol. They are all far away lol. I play against a guy who plays against 1900-2000 rated players in tournaments and who trains people. He said I used a variation of the English Opening against him that he sees in 1900-2000 rated players against him and think about this also, I NEARLY beat him.

I prefer 1.e4 nowadays. I used to be  a 1.d4 player. I play the King's Indian Attack too, especially when my opponents responds with 1...e6. I don't always get good results with that but at least I'm more comfortable with that variation than with the main French Defense line
