My experience from V3
is not only that v3 is slow, but it makes you act slow too because you don't get the information at a glance anymore, it happens everywhere, where to start/ from the chess pieces which have gone from the game that are below the usernames and you cannot compare them?
from the time in the tactics Trainer? that green bar with the time remaining and the average time of the problem is completely missing from V3 there is only a light grey chronometer somewhere , the bar with the on-line members of the team which i just discovered are missing too and you have to scroll 3 pages to find who's on-line? - and when you finally get an idea noone is on-line anymore?
you cannot see anything at a glance in V3 --- the game explorer? which instead of 12 moves it shows you only 4 and you need to scroll to view the rest ? nothing at a glance
Even when you play live chess you have to memorise the pieces are lost, you can't compare at a glance, you never know if you are up or down a pawn or a piece there
This instantaneously roll of information in V2 is the key of the serious downgrade in V3 that makes it totally unfriendly especially to the members who have learned to play in V2 like me, and if you add the icons, the scrolling and the hovering you may have got where the problem lies and how slow it can be.
Actually it is a combination of vital facilities they are missing from every section, plus the difficulty to get the remaining informations at a glance, plus the icons in place of words plus the scrolling and hovering, plus the double clicks in certain simple functions, like log off etc plus the slowness make a very bad mixture
I think it couldn't be worse and that is really a tour de force
But is not only that you cannot get the information at a glance anymore, is even worst because the very best of good things are mostly missing
Like the table of related openings from the game explorer, like the text on ieroglyphical grey icons, even every color is missing only the light invisible grey, the most charming in TT which was that green bar of the time remaining which was giving you that extra feeling of solving the problem in time is missing, like the 3 bars with online members in your team to see at a glance who is on-line
like the colorful signal for 960chess in your current games for example, so that you know that you play 2 or 3 games of chess960 or like the best game from the homepage, (smth special for every player)
Like that message box in friend's invite that we have to live without it because only 5% were using it. This is the spirit dude, all these things will be missing only because they don't care about the people who were using them and they are asking for them to be fixed.
It seems that from every single page the most charming detail must always be missing or not viewable at a glance, this is why I just simply want V2 back or nothing
Even my cool smiley is the only smiley missing from that huge new collection which all looks the same (all the smileys in v2 are better) - cool smiley is missing either because noone feels cool with V3 or simply because that was the best smiley and this is why it should be the one which is missing" ---
I guess this is why they don't care if all the people like us who have built this site creating things and spending our valuable time&money will be missing. Cause it seems to be the new site's policy -- that the "best thing must always be missing"
V3 is certainly a change but is not a change in the direction of progress. You cannot speak about progress in a chess site when you downgrade all the best chess features

Erik sent me an e-mail giving the URL. It turns out it's not under "Profile" but under "My Account."
Still doesn't seem to have a way of sending *only* finished games (and alerts if I'm about to run out of time), though.
