Why do people stall?

In the past few days, I've pushed my spell chess variants rating to 1730, only to drop to 1690. However, during my games, there were multiple people that stopped playing halfway after they had no chance of winning. They just waited the whole 5 mins process of the game. They wasted my time and I am asking if any of you have seen this issue. Is there anything chess.com can do about it?

It would be a easy win, playing 1400s and it shouldn't waste so much of my time

Either they purposefully did it or they got mad using the horrendous website version ( app shows less ad + plus better ui and easier to use )

I know, I use app but variants are fun so I sometimes get on the website
