Having rated games is an excellent idea! I had focused so much on getting people playing that the thought never crossed my mind. I cannot speak for Komstratyx-Spiele but I'm sure the reasoning is similar.
What suggestions do you have?

elo is simple and useful. although the fact there is no deviation can be a reason for not to apply for elo. adding deviation feature was one of my improvements. a rated game can be started by announcing it is rated and at the end changing the rating. everyone that has played one rated game yet is mentioned in a google sheet we can update regularly

but ur rating system would not work, I think elo or glico would work (this is 2 player)
why not to play rated bolwerk 178? why not to apply a simple elo to this? why not to apply an ultra to this?
(ultra was a rating system invented by me initially for 8 player chess, based on elo with some customization and improvements)
