Sont really care what stockfish reccomends, but I feel like a lot of people are saying that since I am a beginner in skill I should only play certain things.

What is so different about it compared to normal pirc?
I have always felt uncomfortable in these positions, and as a beginner, the moment I found the caro, I immediately switched. I have tried playing 1. ... e5, didnt like it. But everyone recommends it so much, some people even saying it should be the only thing all beginners play against 1. e4. I just dont get it. Is it ok for me to play other things, or should I play 1. ... e5, even if I hate it?
