Houdini says best is 4.Bg5. it gives good play for white. And great play if 4...h6 5.Qh5+ Kd7 6. d5 with plans of possible Bb5+c6 dc and o-o-o winning the queen. Again, this line is still sound even if the Fish doesn't play h6. This Netherlands variation has been called the 'refutation variation.' Not to worry, It isn't. BTW Im an 1800 ten min player and an play any and all BDG and BDG like systems like Lange Gambit, and even the Soller Gambit as black!. I find this variation slightly annoying to play against to be honest, but probably shouldn't because it's usually indicative that Black hasn't seen the BDG and is in new territory whereas I've played this variation dozens of times. Time control is 3:0 Blitz.
