From my 25|5 game today against state national master

I spent eight minutes calculating on this move and I couldn't find it

instead, I chose a move that led to an equal position, and in mutual time trouble I blundered.

damn imagine finding that combination

maybe in classical it is more likely, but still

I KNOWWWWWWWW

if I won I would have been playing for a share of either first or second, but since I lost, I was playing to win and get second place

which sounds nice except there were eight people in the tournament

I even got two brilliant moves for Nxe4 and Rxe4 sad

This is really brilliant, ripp. At least you got a part of it, which is already an accomplishment

Can confirm very hard to find

You know it's serious when their name is "Topology_V" (for reference, topology is a very difficult and abstract branch of uni math)

dudes literally a mathematics professor look at this

For his mathematics research, Dr. [redacted] works mainly in the subject area of topology with an emphasis on the topic of generalized inverse limit spaces. He is interested in related topics in continuum theory as well, including indecomposable continua.

like wtf is this

I don't even bother watching games over the 2000 level lol

it still looks much more dangerous

no it didn't

if i saw Be4+ ideas then I would have considered Rc2 but I was more concerned about equalizing than I was with getting an advantage

When you had to grind that plus over minus position for 20 moves you tend to get lethargic

Mainstream openings be like

”oh yeah if white plays solidly then you can equalize on move 27 hahaha

He’s not that kind of person

no u

The only characteristic of the benko is its lack of strategical play besides Ooga booga pressure white queenside maybe he mess up

no the strategy is to attack

That’s not what I mean by strategy

my coach told benko is op and that as white you shouldn't allow it

White shouldn’t play the most challenging move because of a sideline gambit ok

Avatar of sndeww

“If black knows the theory white will lose” I’m sure the benko gambit fully accepted is a forced win for black huh 😐😐😐

Yes. Plus, white avoids tons of theory and gets to play something equally as good if not better as it throws most people out of their prep.

Besides the modern benoni the benko is the most popular option why do you assume that your opponents won’t know their theory?

because to study deep theory of some sideline is rarely seen at my level

even if they do, black get's a playable position and chances as the game eventually goes out of theory

Yes, but you claim it's a forced win. Getting a playable position is hardly anything like that. This is also a playable position (white to move) (eval: -0.7)

This is also a playable position (+1 for white, white to move)
