Winning if the other player doesn’t respond.

I challenged JIMH20762 a game a while ago. Three days went by and I heard nothing. So according to the rules, I believe that I won. I have not been able to get anyone to respond to my request fora re Organization of the ladder to put me in his place. Am I wrong about having won? Or can someone help me? Please, let me know. Thanks.

In a tournament you do not challenge matches are prearranged you may have won if it said time out, or he may have just not accepted the challenge? Then nothing actually transpired.

I assume you have also sent a message to JIMH20762 alongside your challenge @IFMvt. 
I probably wouldn't call it "winning", but you swap places on the ladder, so you can now challenge someone from your new position (if you do this before the ladder has been updated, it's probably best practice mentioning it to the new opponent that you are challenging him/her from your new position to avoid confusion).

I may not understand your question fully but normally if you challenge and someone does not respond, there is no game to win. One must accept a challenge in order for the game to be created. If they time out after the game starts, that is a different matter.

Thank you, I understood the rules to say that if you challenge and The opponent does not respond, You take the place of that person. Perhaps the rules were changed since I was first a member Some years ago. I have lapsed a little, but I’ve been here most of the time. I’ll check again. Thank you.

Think I should be able to swap places on the ladder with JIMH2076. I’m unlikely to challenge anybody from any place on the ladder until it’s updated. Thanks so much, maybe you could help me get it updated?
