Lets explore a recipe GMs use to win quickly with Black

First the positions , then the actual moves and games.

Position 1 : White develops Nf3,g3,Bg2 a KINGS INDIAN ATTACK system

ok what is Black's Answer ? we want to exchange the bishop on g2. the quickest way to do is Qc8 and Bd7 which allows the move Bh3 seen in next position

And last position, how do we win ?

Black plays Ng4 with idea of Nxh2 as well as Ne3 with checkmate on g2.

Now the entire game

The GM with Black is Bortnyk

but a tweak you may face is the following. What if White plays Re1 and on Bh3 retreats the bishop on h1. What if White avoids exchanging the light square bishop on g2.

In the game above, I have analyzed how Black would still play h5-h4 to open up the h-file.

but lets see another example by @hikaru

Now I do not know if Magnus Carlsen plays this with Black, but @Hikaru does.

As you can see, White tries to keep the bishop on the board. Did he survive against the GM ?

not long. I'll put the game below so that you can see the idea from the Black side.

Game was played in April 2024 !

let me know if you have ever used this idea or if you think you may give it a shot !

Very nice, the idea is interesting!

OverwroughtScourge

It’ll definitely be interesting to try! I think Gotham does a fair bit of this as well against the KIA, so it should be interesting!

BugSerge

Will definitely give it a try!
