I wasn't alone in that dark forest.

You were there...I just didn't see You.
I was too blind.
I was walking, and You walked behind me.
I started running, and You ran behind me.
Until, suddenly, You were in front of me.
I shut my eyes as You told me to look at you.
I covered my ears as You called my name.
I didn't want You...but You wanted me....
Deep down, I was cold and dead.
Until You touched me...
I didn't love You, but You loved me.
I fought to get free from Your embrace.
Until I knew I could fight no more.
As I walked, You walked with me.
As I ran, You ran with me.
As I shut my eyes, You looked at me.
As I covered my ears, You called my name.
As I fought, You embraced me.
As I collapsed, You held me.
As I wept, You comforted me.
As I sobbed, You cradled me.
As I cried I was sorry, You forgave me.
All the times I'd rejected You, You had loved me.
I whispered, "Father."
You whispered, "Daughter."
I whispered, "Daddy."
You whispered, "Child."
I whispered, "Thank you..."
You whispered, "Welcome home."
I whispered, "Don't leave me..."
You whispered, "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee."
Once again, I whispered, "Thank you."
And You said, "Now, my daughter, follow me."
And now, to this very day, I say with triumph and joy, six words:
"I AM A CHILD OF GOD."

Are you pro-choice, or pro-life? Seriously, think about it. Do you believe killing a baby is wrong or fine? Do you believe it is for the health of the mother? Do you call that living being in the woman's body a "fetus" to try to dehumanize it? Don't keep scrolling, don't close this tab, don't ignore what I'm saying. Do you? The Bible says every child is unique from the moment of conception. It says every human life is a gift, one we should not throw away. Every. Single. Baby. is a human. A unique human with gifts. The baby the abortionist just killed could have been the next president. The next believer. The next fire fighter who saved a family. The next doctor who saved hundreds of lives. The next child who could be loved. Psalm 139:13-16 – "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made..." Jeremiah 1:5 – "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you..." Exodus 20:13 – "You shall not murder." Luke 1:41 – "And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb..." Isaiah 44:24 – "Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb: ‘I am the Lord, who makes all things.’" I don't care what situation they came from. They can still live. It is to Shannon Messenger, the author of Keeper of the Lost Cities, a book series I absolutely love, that unfortunately recently took a turn to the left.

Dear Ms. Messenger,

Greetings from a group of KOTLC fans! We are writing to tell you how much we appreciate your dedication to the series and the elven empire that you have created. However, we noticed an issue in 9.5 Unraveled that disappointed us. Although the characters were very minor, we were highly disappointed by the inclusion of two homosexual couples. The reason we all loved these books was, in part, due to the lack of LGBT+ agenda pushing. To say the least, we were very frustrated by this. We love being able to recommend your books to people we meet, and some of our younger siblings have been asking about them. But if the political agenda view continues to be added, we don’t feel like we can give a wholehearted recommendation.

We are not writing this from a place of judgment; rather, we are writing as four girls who are dismayed and concerned at the turn that the series has taken. All four of us are Christians, and as such, we believe that homosexuality is wrong, whether it be an action or an attraction. We hold that marriage and romantic relationships are only for one man and one woman together. However, we also believe in grace. We believe that Jesus Christ, the only son of God the Father, was sent down from Heaven to be born on earth as a baby from the womb of a virgin. He lived a perfect life as a man for thirty three years, and when he finished his earthly ministry, he was crucified on a cross to pay the price for all of our sins, past, present, and future. He offers the free gift of eternal salvation in Heaven, and without Him, we have no hope.

These things are very important to us, and we wanted to share them with you. We also wanted to encourage you to resist the pressures of the world we live in today. We would be incredibly grateful if you went back to the way your books were before, and kept them free of any agendas. I'm sure we wouldn't be the only ones. We appreciate your time and encourage you as you work on book 10. We are looking forward to it! We humbly hope that you will consider these things, and we thank you for taking the time to read our letter!
