What board fits these pieces the best?

Dear chess players

I have been playing chess online for a while now and thought it was time to get My hands on a physical set. I wanted something premium for a somewhat tolerable price and finally came across the The Burnt Golden Rosewood Reykjavik II Series Chess Pieces on The House of Staunton. Problem is that I do not have a board to go with the pieces, and due to shipping and taxes it would be an understatement to say ordering a board seperately would be preferable.

Basically, I'm having trouble finding a somewhat basic wood chess board on THS in a price range of  $120 - $200 that fits the colours of the Reykavic pieces linked above.

I've been looking at this(1) and this(2) board at ≈2.25 inches.

This is not really answering your question, but your board needn’t necessarily be the same colours as your pieces in order to look right. For example if the dark squares were ebony it would still look ok, especially as there is some black on the pieces in that set.

With a an intricate pattern and color combo for the pieces I would keep the board simple.  Honestly Walnut and Maple is super classic for a reason. It looks amazing with almost anything. Wenge and Maple Also has a great classic look.

If you can find a board with an ornate border, but simple squares, that would look nice.

I also recommend maple and walnut. I have a set of highly figured pieces and they make my eyes buggy if I use them on a board with much figure. Maple is always good for white squares and most walnut is just enough lighter than your piece bases to allow them to stand out.

Regular walnut or sheesham would fit nicely. An ornate board wouldn't really complement the pieces.
