Hey, I wanna buy a nice travel chess set that I could take with me wherever I go, but it should be of great quality and feel good when playing it. So I came across the "World chess travel chess set" (https://shop.worldchess.com/products/world-chess-travel-chess-set)  and wondered, if it's a good investment or if you guys have any other recommendations

That's right, I'm sorry, here's a new link (that should work): https://shop.worldchess.com/collections/chess-sets/products/world-chess-travel-chess-set

I have many travel chess sets in that design. They make for a great travel set.

But for over $100 for a 12 inch size in that style travel set. Other manufacturers offer much cheaper and just as good quality folding travel chess sets.

Go to Amazon and search travel chess sets.

Right, but I really like the design of this one

Good investment? Do you think you'll sell it for a profit later? You'd have to hold it for long past when its being produced, and it's still very speculative. If you want to invest, there are many better choices. Sorry, you hit a pet peeve referring to a basic purchase as an investment. I know marketing has long abused "investment" this way. There are people here buying collectible chess sets as investments, but this set won't be one of those for a long time.

If you like it so much that you are willing to pay a premium over 4x the market price for a comparable generic set, then that's certainly your choice. It's unlikely to be such bad quality or to deteriorate that you can't enjoy it.

No of course I'm not referring to this as an actual "investment", but I wanted to know if it's worth buying it yk. So I'm not trying to "invest" in some chess sets, but I'm just looking for a great quality travel chess set which I could use for years and enjoy. But I just really liked the design of this set as well as the quality which the brand stands for, so I wanted to know what other people think of it
