Best to completely ignore the trolls, bullies and naysayers who have nothing positive or helpful to contribute, and who engage in diminishing others in order to elevate their poor or inflated self-image. Their behavior is indicative of their dysfunctional personalities and immaturity. They need to evoke responses in order to garner attention, which fuels encouragement for them to continue defecating their toxic excrement. Lacking the attention they thrive on, like weeds deprived of water they will eventually dry up and blow away.
If they persist in their bullying behavior, then fearlessly and immediately call them out for what they are - be sure to call them a bully - exposing them for all on the forum to see, and thereafter simply ignore them. Eventually they will tire of the lack of attention and disappear, back to the useless, hollow existence from which they emerged.
Any abuse, bullying, or harassment, should be reported.
What a silly thread. Do you need the bullies to turn up so you can chase them off? If you can chase them off why do you need an anti bullying thread? Or are you just informing people who the bullies are.
It looks like it’s just set up to attract the trolls.

@TheHarbingerOfDoom that is easy for you to say, but it isn't always that easy for some members here who only desire is play chess without having to deal with behavior that is not condoned by chess.com or decent members of this site.
Your right. But starting an anti bullying thread is just stupid. It’s like running down a firing range with a target nailed to your back. May aswell invite trolls/bullies whatever you want to call them in.
I’ve seen adults fall out on here and I’ve seen kids squabble. And you know you can tell which is which.
And when the kids fall out and upset each other and themselves it’s not our responsibility to say there there it will be ok. It’s their parents who should be watching what their going on and giving them a good slap when they do something stupid.

The parent aren't always there 24/ 7, but that is no excuse or reason for members to behave in a less than civil manner here is it. Oh I know it's to be expected, it's the internet. No this is a private business with it's own T.O.S.
It is not a rule as to who you may follow, only that religious discussions as well as other topics are restricted to clubs & are not permitted in the main forums.
There’s not much wrong with less than civil. You don’t need to wrap em up in cotton wool.
So that is the behavior you would teach a child of yours?

I believe Harbringer has a point. A forum for "anti bullying"... what does that do? If the OP meant something like "lets report bullies on this forum" that would be public accusations. If the OP meant "lets share stories about bullies" (or something) then the original post doesn't make sense.
Personally I think this "anti-bullying" thread is pointless and harmless. Becuase it's not like bullies are gonna come here and say "Hi im a bully" or anything...
No. I would teach them manners and respect. I also taught them to stand up for themselves. I am against bullying. But what people consider to be bullying know is sometimes nothing more than someone saying something they don’t like of don’t agree with. I grew up in the 80’s it was a different world as well you know. Abuse and bullying is wrong. But if someone laughs at something you post on line or makes an unkind comment they need to grow abit of backbone.
Did you consider he was trying express his frustrations with a situation he was having difficulty coping with?
