Don't block people for minor reasons

Blocking a member is extremely serious. If that does happen and you block someone for an extremely minor reason, then STOP! If you block someone that person will be lost from view forever at chess.com and who knows if he/she is actually a nice and helpful member.

Only block people who are seriously rude or mean.

So...you were blocked by someone before they got know how nice and helpful you are?Laughing

So far, I have only blocked people in live chess that said hateful things, or left a game on purpose instead of resigning (and their page is filled with complaints from other players about resigning early).  The staff recommended to block those people, so I do.

Blocking... Serious business.

Whenever I see the terms "member" and "block" used in the same sentence, I think of cock-blocking, which is incidentally my favorite pastime.

What an amazing poem! What beautiful images it provokes! I could almost see the words! I've never been this moved before in my life. I will never block anyone ever again.

100 is few for you? Cool I had already blocked a member because what he done for me is a blasphemy for my country.

I disagree completely.

- If someone is rude to me then I block them every single time. Why would I ever want to waste my time entertaining that person again? Let them play with the other people that are equally rude.

- Reporting, in my view, requires a specific offence, which is why they list so many options to report against. I don't report players just because I don't like them. It's mainly due to stalling (I'm doing a service to you, because you get to play more games in your free time if players don't stall when they are in lost positions) and occasionally personal abuse (which for me is a zero tolerance issue).

If someone just brags about how much better their play was, they are rude and I don't want any contact with them again. If they attack me personally, then I report them.

I don't like necro thread bumpers. You're blocked!

Depends.

I have played trash talkers and didn’t mind at all since I would win.

The stalling is definitely rude. Imagine an OTB game and watching the person stall on time?
