Notice that I didn't identify to whom I was referring.  Why would you assume it's the group you mention?  A history of complaints maybe?  Very telling you identified a certain group on your own. Hmmm

The only thing I regret is mentioning "owners" which I regret and I wish I could take back.  I don't stand by that comment.  

Because I've been here for 10 years. I remember the old days of, e.g., flooding a forum with pictures of ugly kitchens. People you no longer see around, like ilikeflags and prawneatsprawn for example.

I knew you're talking about e.g. royal spam society members because I've been here so long I've heard you make these complaints before. I thought they were silly then, and I think they're silly now.

And in any case, the forums are inundated with a much lower form of the same thing. Kids and sockpuppets who flood forums, but not with wry and intelligent humor, with a level of "conversation" so low it could easily be replaced by bots.

Vastly more people would agree with my "silly" assessment but since they've been driven away...

When by necessity it must always come at the expense of others it is not "intelligent humor."  

Bullies always think they are sooo clever.

After questions had been answered, or if something dumb was asked, that's typically when they'd hijack a topic. If your rating was low back then, and you were honestly looking for help only to have it hijacked, then I could more easily understand your feelings.

But your rating was 1700 or 1800 so it's hard for me to imagine how you were "bullied"

Plus you've been holding onto this grudge for so many years, and for example I've never seen clifton's reincarnation bully anyone... and even if the main problem back then was bullies, the modern forums have a completely different problem.

But ok, maybe you saw a different side of some of them.

I know one user here who is a disgusting nasty person... at least that's how some of us saw the person. But this person was nice in other places on the site, so some people had no idea.

When I joined the RSS seemed to be tailing off, I guess, so I don't know much about them, but I do remember TheGrobe and Ivandh? and Goldendog (was he a member?) posting.  I will say that you can't really compare them to the inane serial sockpuppets of the past several years, they seemed relatively okay when posting individually.  It did seem sometimes like they would all coordinate and descend on particular threads, and that got oppressive, but I'm not sure that was intentional, or just the result of somebody posting about some thread in their private club forum, which drew more members to that thread. 

As someone who has been called a troll vigilante on occasion, I would say several of them were seemingly cut from that same cloth .  The group dynamic is not my cup of tea, though.  If someone is being an a$$hat, I am perfectly fine confronting them with their own asshattery, but on those occasions when there's a pile-on of people, I generally slow way down or stop posting.  It's enough for someone to be confronted and made aware of their behavior or called out for misleading/manipulative information, etc.
