The topic, I have been getting "Out of the blue" friend requests from people I don't know and haven't played with. How are they finding me and how can I better filter who does and does not reach out / try to connect?

Visual bug no doubt, my copy is genuine.
In that case i would recommend to edit that picture to not be showing that bug. But just my opinion, of course.

I don't like bandaid fixes, microsoft customer support can fix that expediently.
Not necessary that people only friend those whom they play with. They must have seen you on the forums ..... Also some people just want more and more friends....so they look up one of their friends profile and send a request to all of his friends.....maybe u could have been a mutual friend

Well I thought it was strange that people were able to add me out of the blue, I knew there was an option to add people post game, but I didn't know how people were finding my account and giving me requests. Did this mean they have my account information? Could they figure out the URL to my profile somehow? so on and so forth. It was also very strange to me, that I would receive random requests without it being a natural product of some interaction, especially from a username I've never seen before.

Yes even I do it.... I mean I just randomly go through one of my close friend's profile and look up with whom that person is chatting with in notes and then I friend them. I guess u need to do it sometimes if you want to grow your friend circle

U might have not seen them....but they might have seen you.... Now u made this post.... There could be hundreds of people who might be reading this but haven't commented. Also as I told you about the mutual friend thing...it's nothing new... They just would have clicked on to one of their friends profile who coincidentally would have been ur friend as well...and then found u

I didn't know you could find a person's profile that way, and at least until the time of my writing the OP for this thread, the user that was in my list wasn't a participant in any of the threads I participated in, unless I suppose they were lurking.
