I have two free pgn readers on my computer - CompoChess 2.5  and Chessbase 12. Most of the advanced features of Chessbase 12 are only reserved for the paid version. However, there is a handy feature in the free version: Output. Once you get to the game list, use Ctrl+ click to select all the games you want to retrieve. Right click to find the output option. Output > Selection to text file . Choose standard + pgn ( and set it as default for future use ). Then you can output your selected games to a new file with a name you choose.

For most other free softwares, this export function is simply non-existent and for this reason alone, Chessbase 12 ( free version ) is worth installing.
