A rare chess clock, now with a new owner

A while ago I posted about a chess clock which I considered as one of the rarest in the world and certainly the most beautiful of all - it's design is simply breathtaking and unique.

Since I am moving into a new house in 6 months,  I have to sell part of my collection.  Now this specific clock is nicely described by the new owner

Please let me know if you are searching for a specific chess item, chess sets, boards, clocks, books, pictures. I just began to sell my collection,  so you can find good items for very good price (6 months is not very long to reduce drastically such a huge collection,  so I have to make good prices).

Do you have any Soviet sets you’re looking to sell? And what chess boards are you selling?

brasileirosim

No Soviets sets of quality, as far as I remember. I have all kind of boards. Some are from tournament size with a metal plaque “Schachklub Bern”, chess club Bern, a traditional chess club in Switzerland. I have around 150 chess boards in all ages, sizes and quality. Perhaps I can post some pictures here, if you wish.

Do you have any boards with squares made of padauk, rosewood, or purpleheart?

brasileirosim

Unfortunately I don't know much about wood. Purpleheart I don't think I have. The other woods perhaps, but I can't tell you 😔. Perhaps I can post some pics here so you can try to recognize the specific wood.

What I’m looking for is a chess board with red-ish or purple-ish squares. Do you have any like that?

brasileirosim

I will check this.

brasileirosim

I didn't find any, unfortunately.

My dear countryman Renato,
Hope you are fine my friend.
Last time we talked you was trying to organize your large and rare chess collection. How the work evolved?
Let’s play some daily games.
All the best!

I am fine. Instead of organizing the collection I am selling it, it is less work😂.Sure, let’s play a game. I was making a break from playing online, but it is time to go!!

By the way, the chess clock’s new owner just told me, that this clock was used in the Chess Olympics in 1935 (Warsaw). I found pictures of players using this clock. That’s amazing!

Thanks, but I sold both. I will try to find another one, this time to keep it…perhaps!
