Do You know that book?
Perhaps the most read book of all my chess library. Why? I don't know! That is a fascinating book? Without a doubt! "Unique"? Too! That reads like a novel? Sure! I started to buy some of the suggested books in it? 'It's true!
This book has a dramatic story behind the life of Alex Dune but at the same time love of chess as few? Believe me!
Congratulations to Alex Dune for this wonder book and especially by going over the preconceived ideas, myths, about chess books and about chess authors!
Lev Polugayevsky said one day that 90% of chess books should never have been written because they are so bad! Exaggeration or not, the books referred by Dune are the 10% !
What annoys me is that many people who referred to Chernev, Reinfeld, or the other classic authors do not even have books or even read them!
I have hundreds and hundreds of chess books, I'm a portuguese National Master and I love a surprisingly small book cited by Dune that I read again and again again and again: Why?
Maybe because it makes me go back in time on that chess had this mystery and magic that I lost with the time, the theory, and all chess literaturwe garbage. It's a coffee table book that makes me love chess like a child!
