All books, no chess sets!

I had to go back over 10 pages to find many of the old HOS threads - I guess now that they (HOS) are in a lull selling their killer sets on ebay, no one has any good stories to post.  And reading posts about chess books is as boring as, well, reading chess books!

Seriously though, I'm wondering if HOS is having problems with inventory or cash flow.  I have been waiting for them to restock a couple items I've wanted for quite some time - namely a folding wood board and specific bag - and it seems to be taking forever to get back into stock.  I've emailed them a couple times and each time I get a quick reply saying they 'hope' to have the items back in stock by a certain date only to have those dates come and go.

It's a sign of the times when we expect instant gratification and get annoyed when we can't get what we want.  I've looked at other offerings but I really want the board and bag I've seen there. I understand it's a tough economy but if you can't fill your customers needs they will (eventually) go elsewhere!

Okay, that's all I got.  Back to the boring stuff!  Can anyone recommend a good chess book?
