That is the exact set I bought 2 months ago.I've got it right in front of me as I keyboard this.My 5 star rating is the first one you'd see, because this seller(and particularly this set) is absolutely stunning and soooo different.....Quality wise,it is right up there with my O.S and Noj sets,if you can believe it....Just love it.

I don't think there are too many of these around,so that is another unique plus....but,to see this up close is a treat.....I think this seller is slightly underpriced....Just my opinion.

MCH....you're a "mensch" for being on top of these things and posting this.

Nice, Now I want one sad.png

Yes! EraRetro.

Now I remember......One piece came in with a slight crack and when I emailed her,the response was immediate! She came off as so concerned and sweet. She was mortified that one of her pieces had an issue and sent out a new/flawless one immediately!

I wouldn't hesitate to deal with EraRetro again.......Great seller!

Thanks for bringing her to my attention: I've been looking for a Latvian ("Tal") set for a while. None of the originals around were quite in the condition I'd want and OS have discontinued their Tal offering. Her sets are exactly what I was looking for. Just need to wait for payday now...

EraRetro (Kate) is now ERWood Leather Shop.

A lot of nice Soviet designs there, besides the Tal Set, they have a good repro of the Latvian design and the Soviet GM set. Not certain how *accurate* the reproduction is , but aesthetically very nicely done chess sets.

I have the NOJ TAL set too.The EraRetro version is different,in a good way.

There are some less expensive versions around(forgot who sells these, but easy to find if one does a search).

The Tal sets are fabulous.

I should mention that "Oldset",on Etsy, also makes fantastic Soviet sets.

I recently got the Alekhine set from him.

If I said it was sensational I'd be understating how magnificent this set is.

My favorite set of all time.
