Hi,
I had the same problem a while ago with Shredder 7.
To solve my problem, I went to \Program Files\ChessBase\Sounds\Board. You should see a tick.wav file. Just rename it (tick1.wav, for exemple), and the tik tak will not be heard when you spend some time on a position.

Thank you very much Bidibulle!

haha, i do that sort of thing in all my chess progs too. some of the sounds are really annoying. glad ya got it solved! :)

There is no need to rename files (unless you just want to).
Application Menu (round green button in the upper left corner) – Options – Multimedia tab
Clearing the check next to 'Board Sounds' will stop the ticking sound along with the clacking sound when you move pieces.

micJr thats good solution but i need the sound when the piece moves.

Hey guys, after seeing this post I also saw this on youtube which explains it very well too. You can also set a different sound for the start of a new game. You must watch this video and it will cure you of fritz insanity!

hello everyone.I just installed fritz 12 and sometimes when playing or analyzing starts an annoying sound like "tik tak". Like the sound of a clock.Even if i stop the game it still goes on. I can't find something in the help menu. Do you know how can i stop it?
