Any recommendations for books by anand/kramnik/kasparov/karpov/fischer?

You can Google.
I already did that, but you must know, that sometimes, google does not give you exactly what you want, and in this case, it did not exactly show the type of chess books I wanted.

hey! thanks for that!

I haven't read it yet but if Timman's previous books are a guide then his new book on Fischer, The Unstoppable American will be one to recommend. One of his earlier works, Timman's Titans, covers three of those you named (Fischer, Karpov, Kasparov) plus all other World Champions from Capablanca to Kasparov and is excellent. It is a combination of biography, personal experience and games collection.

You are right that Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess is for beginners. Very little on Fischer in it. Its a tactics tutor, largely on back rank mates (if memory serves).

my best games by karpov is the best book ive ever read. he follows some strategic principles/guidelines which are not mainstreamed, and he comments them in some of his games' positions
for example, if doubling a rook on one file gives no prospects, then put the second rook on a second file OR create a second file for the second rook
Hmmm......sounds interesting! i'll try to get this book for sure!
Please note, it can be any book, but let it not be a biography/autobiography. And it must be personally written by these players. It must be a book that discusses more of their games, the openings played by them, tactics, strategy, game plan etc. other authors who are well known chess players are fine too!
