If you're looking for specifically when you're behind I'd say Smerdon's new book The Complete Chess Swindler is very interesting for you. It's not really focusing on creating real practical counterplay (in which case I'd recommend looking for a more general strategic guide) but on swindles themselves.

Hi,
Like the title says, I’m interested in what books you would recommend when you are behind in material and a section involving complicating the position would be good.
or even a series of puzzles that involve complicating the position when you are down would be good.
thanks
