Leaving aside the matter of whether strategy actually exists
, your way of working sounds really good - i.e. inserting variations and comments to facilitate learning. Glad you're having fun!

Thanks to Iryna Zenyuk's article last week I got this book in the mail this week and have gone through 4 games so far.
What amateurs can learn from Ulf Andersson's positional Masterpieces.
Each game that I've gone through has taught me a lesson or two. I am really enjoying this book and what really excites me is the fact that I've just begun to read it and there is so much material to look forward too. I take the games from chessgames.com and use chessbase. I then use the book to insert the variations and comments where necessary. Although the book is about the middle and endgame, It also introduced me to a couple of new openings that I was not into yet.
I would put this book as one of my favorites if not my favorite right now.
