Books for a Beginner

Hey everyone. I've been playing chess for around 2 months now and I've seen great improvement in my chess skills. I can say I'm around the rank 1100-1200ish. I want to keep this pace of improvement and thought if I can get a good suggestion on books and practiced, I might stay the same pace of improvement for a little big longer. I've read Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess, which I found to be a great book for beginners. I'm currently reading 303 More Tricky Puzzles. When I started reading that book, I couldn't do a single easy puzzle. When i finished the easy puzzles portion of the book (did each easy puzzle 3 times), the intermediate puzzles looked hell of a lot easy.

The problem I've noticed in my games is that in the mid-game, I dont know what to do. Like there are so many options and I cant find the best one out of those moves. I also drop peices way less frequently now.

What book should I get to help me find the best moves when there are tons of options? So basically a book on endgame and midgames for someone thats 1100-1200ish rating (chess live).

Thank You,

I would check out Ward Farnsworth's Predator at the Chessboard, which covers tactics.

I'm working through "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Chess" which is highly rated on Amazon.com and has 58 enlightening reviews.Smile
