looks ok to me.
Cardboard Chess Piece Box from TheChessStore.com

Wow this sounds like exactly what I had been looking for, but of course the link doesn't have any pictures (and the above post's picture looks nothing like the description, so I'm not convinced that's it).

The product description sounds good, and the prize seems low if it really is as good as the description makes it sound.
But no picture offered by the shop ?
Anyone wanting to sell stuff professionally on the internet should at least offer some pictures.
Maybe you should contact them via email and ask for a few pics.
I have 2 of those boxes that sets from The Chess Store came in. I keep meaning to order more of the boxes when I order from them, as the boxes are really nice quality and if you need to store a lot of chess sets, I can not imagine a better quality, compact way to do that.
Lacking pictures, I can tell you that they are plain cardboard boxes, with thin layer of foam in top and bottom, card board partitions to separate the pieces. The top and bottom of the box is sturdy, 2 or 3 layers of cardboard. Nice embossed "leather" on the outside.

DS - I contacted them for pictures, nothing yet.
Hunter - Thanks for the vote of confidence. I think I may go ahead and grab one or two and see.
Here's some pictures of one of mine.
You can see that with the finials attached, the box is slightly too short for the kings, so I cut a small opening for them to fit through.
Also, there are only 32 sections so assuming double queens, I put both my bishops in one spot.
The kings in that set are 3 7/8" tall. That particular box is rated for 3 3/4" kings. Chess House does sell a box rated for 4" kings if that is a better fit. FYI, these kings will JUST fit in the partition, but is literally touching top and bottom. I found the little cutout made it much easier to insert and remove them, and you will notice that there is about 1/2" of un-used space at the top of the box anyways. You could pull the top partition out if you wanted to and they would fit with no problems.

Let us know if they reply at all. In my experience, they don't.
I would just call the toll free phone number.
I have found them to be informative, helpful and even nice.
I purchased a Lardy set from them and it came in one of these boxes. For a cardboard box, $10 seems a bit steep to me, but I know that prices are higher than they used to be.

Can anyone help me out? I want to order 11 boxes to get the free shipping, but the only options the website gives me are for $85.25 and $190.00 shipping. Customer service by phone takes weekends off, and I'm not getting responses to my emails, as Crappov noted. Many thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Chuck, try emptying your shopping cart and close the tab. Go back in to the site, and try ordering them again. It should ask you for a zip code before it gives you shipping options. I just tried it on my system, and this is the screen I got:
I can't believe that UPS wouldn't ship to eastern New Hampshire! That would be ridiculous. The only other option would be to wait until Monday.
Thanks, Robert. I will try that. UPS, of course, does ship here, even more since I've started buying a chess set for every new pair of women's shoes that arrive.

Just go to an arts and crafts store and pick up one of those plastic adjustable compartment boxes. They'll have foam sheeting there as well.
Save yourself some money and get something that won't stain or fall apart if it gets wet.

A good suggestion. Thanks.
Has anyone tried out these boxes? Opinions? Pictures?
