WOW! Thanks for posting that! Superb deal,but I hope they are not damaged goods.
I'm suspicious of almost everything chess related these days.

Looks like a high quality item to me and the hinges look solid.Btw,according to the H.O.S. description,it can handle a King size of 4.4 inches in height.  A no brainer for anyone looking for a nice box......I was going to go for a Pleasant Time Industries box,since I have a few and they are extremely high quality....but...thanks to the "great MCH"(who took out the Li Bot,rated at 2000 twice) I could not resist....-![]()
I'm quite sure this isn't a damaged/imperfect offering. Â Those are sold here.
Yes I did finally beat her!.......Nobody beats me 40 times in a row!-![]()
Took her out,after watching a D-4 opening video and applied the theory.95.3% accuracy,which felt good.
Ah, I see now: this is a new product. Â It, along with a Red Burl version, is listed on the New Products page here. Â So you don't have to order 6 mahogany ones... Â ;-)
@GrandPatzerDave and @MagicTwanger I did agree. If this was a damaged it, then HoS would put it in the imperfect item section. I think people probably do not prefer this box due to the glass. HoS probably uses this to attack some customers.
??
I bought these boxes at this price in March. It was a bit of a strange sale since I received an offer that was valid for only one day, and before that, these boxes had been in my basket for a week. And I thought it was a special promo.
The sale is now for a week, and I have ordered them again.
Could someone be so kind as to list the interior dimensions of the individual compartment. And most importantly, the interior height. Thanks!~
Each section has internal sizes 112mm x 165mm x 110mm (height - to glass top). Approximately...
Excellent! It will comfortably fit a standing Chavet No.5 set with plenty of room to spare. Although my modern Garbage Chavet set doesn't deserve such a luxury home, I do have a fine 3.5" set coming soon...Â
@olegershov Spasibo.

I have a Blake & Lake box....Very nice box,with good quality,but the lid has no locking mechanism.
I snaps into place via an inner tongue of wood,but you must be really careful if you move it much.Still,it's a superb box......However,it does not touch the boxes from Pleasant Time Industries.......Those are superb,but not cheap.
For all those who are interested, House of Staunton is having a sale on their Superior boxes. Normally these retail for $169.99. The sale price is $59.99. The ad does not specify it is a clearance item or damaged. The sale ends tomorrow.

These are perfect for storing my sets with a 1.6" king base such as my 3.75" Fischer-Spassky from HoS, 3.5" Cooke from OS and 3.5" Morphy from SC. The box is large enough to store the pieces standing up.
