ChessDB is a fork of SCID.  SCID vs. PC is better than both and is the only one that is really being actively developed these days, I think.  Can't imagine a compelling reason not to choose SCID vs. PC over both.

Except scid vs pc has these annoying undocked windows, always hidden if you happen to be busy with something else. Scid pops back up with one click.

SCID vs. PC is the name of the program.  I don't really know where the name comes from.  PC generally stands for personal computer.
