I was looking for any type of chess game/program for a Mac last year. There were not very many; one I did find was Chess King 2018 for Mac. I eventually did not buy anything, so don't know if it has what you are looking for. But it did have a lot of features and settings. It might be worth checking out - Chess King for Mac. Good luck.

I think the Stockfish download for Mac has everything an average club player needs. Last time I checked it came with it's own GUI. I wouldn't buy a program. There's plenty of free and open source programs available. Buying chess software isn't necessary for weekend warriors such as us.
About 15 years ago I used Chessmaster and it had these settings you could change to make the engine value pieces differently, value king safety more or less, and so on. I really miss that!
Does anyone know of a somewhat contemporary program for Mac that has a feature like that?
I'm not sure this is the right forum, so... if it's not, please just move it to the right one.
