Looks like it to me also. The Kings look to be 4 1/2 to 5 inches to me unless its an illusion.

well, not sure about the set but the game was a re-enactment of Boris Spassky's victory over David Bronstein in 1960.a brilliant King's Gambit game.Smile

Starting a research in google writing: 3 3/4 inch Staunton chess set. Some similar sets appears in graphics. But the designation is always staunton tournament chess set. The commercial name of the set is still not found so far.

something like that:

As previously mentioned - LARDY. They have been out of business for many years now, unfortunately...

Continuing the analyse of our video, here comes the second part of this forum; quite a tricky question: Where could be found the original chess set used by the great actor Vladek Sheybal in the James Bond Movie "From Russia With Love" ?

Chess lovers and James Bond fans are both invited to participate in this forum :-)

I think you overrate the importance of the set. It was just a prop, not even used by Sean Connery. Back when the movie was made, there was not such a trade in movie items, so it likely went straight back into storage and eventually probably got thrown away or sold off by the prop house. Even if one were to see a set that was claimed to be the one from the movie, how would it ever be proved?
