Retails for $349.99 for the heck of it I tried the EASTER30 coupon which I thought would work on any thing above $199 but it didn't so I guess the 30% off is only on select sets since it is not inclusive.
CHESSBAZAAR BCC 4.2" SET
Mike, At one time, HoS made a version of this set as the BCC Royal with a 4.25" king (which I own). They later enlarged it to a 4.4" set calling it the 1936 Nottingham. Apparently, they closed out the 1936 Nottingham set last year, as it's no longer listing on their website, which is too bad, it was a nice set.
Here are some pics comparing an original 1895 BCC set to the HoS Nottingham and the CB BCC set. The first thing I noticed was that the CB knight seems larger than the original or the HoS knight. Anyway, viewers can make their own comparisons.

Lou, if they made it maybe a pinch smaller and straightened the snout out a little it would have been that much better. I do see where the HOS set got the knight right on.
Bases on the original look much wider too.

Mike, I just received an email from CB. They are giving there newly launched storage box free with pre-orders before 28th march. Storage box is worth $130 and yes you are right base on the original knight looks much wider.
ADDENDUM: Here is a comparison of the three knights:
it seems like a common theme w/ many CB repros that they get the knight's proportions wrong...

Frank, for some odd reason I feel they do this on purpose. It just happens too many times.
Is this the BCC set with that Knight that was originally cast or made with something other than wood?
Schachmonkey,
Originally, the BCC knight heads were made from Xylonite, an early plastic material. Later, the knights from their 1S size (4.3") Improved Staunton sets were carved from wood. Here's a comparison:

And closer up.

The knights from the HoS BCC Royal and 1936 Nottingham repro sets were patterned after the wooden BCC knight from 1892, as apparently was the CB knight.

They have announced this set in conjunction with Alan Dewey once again, the 4th set of the "series" as they descibe it.
Since I am not an expert in the BCC maybe some collector's who actually know what they are talking about can chime in and say how the pieces stack up to some of the original BCC designs. Many pictures on CB's site, I just posted one so this thread doesn't take long to load.
