The last version was released almost 9 years ago. Who would have guessed that CM XI would be the last of the series?
The Wiki article states, "It is the best-selling chess franchise in history, with more than five million units sold as of 2002." And yet, Ubisoft discontinued the product, choosing to focus on more profitable games. That's understandable, but still a shame and a waste.

does anyone know of articles available on the web about older Chessmaster versions?
I would be very interested to learn how the series evolved.
Please do not reply saying "CM XI is the best" :)
However, I would like to know for example:
- if there were some nice features (maybe tutorials, personalities etc.) in older versions that were later on removed and are not available in newer versions.
- what were major improvements between subsequent versions
