Drueke 'swirl' patterns ...

Hi All - I picked up a Drueke Player's Choice set and the white pieces have swirl patterns in them. I was wondering if this might have just been from not mixing the plastic enough or would this have been on purpose? It has the dark wood box and I think they may be an earlier set as most of the Player's Choice sets I have seen are in light wood boxes. Defect or not they're a keeper Laughing. Cheers -Ronbo

Is it perhaps a simulated wood grain effect?

Just looking at a few online pics of various Drueke Players Choice sets, it appears that 5" sets had noticable simulated wood grains. I couldn't tell for the smaller sets. The three I've owned recently all have solid colored plastic.

Hi - Yes the #38 (5" set) I have has the "grainy" look of wood in the dark pieces. But this is the only one I have seen with these swirls in a #35. I think I remember someone advertising a Drueke P.C. set years ago with similar swirls but maybe not. Getting old Undecided

I think the swirly Druekes are from early production.
