Agreed. The set has extra wide bases and 5 turret rooks like the CB 4" Crimson set. God knows I have enough Dubrovnik sets, but had to purchase this beautiful set in the sheesham wood/boxwood combination.

Hi Frank, are you still enjoying your 3.6" Sheesham Dubrovnik?

Avatar of 9kick9

Oh yes.! It is a fantastic set IMO. I really don't like 4 inch Kings but, I can appreciate the beauty of them never the less.

I just got my 4" Sheesham set from ChessBazaar today.  Very impressive set!

Aside from the consisitent color of the sheesham, CB has made improvements  to my previous custom order Dubrovnik 4" crimson stain set (http://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/my-custom-made-crimson-stain-dubrovnik-chess-set-by-chessbazaar). These improvements include bigger/thicker Kings and Queens, taller Rooks, Knights, Bishops and pawns, and somewhat larger bases. A beautiful and well proportioned set. Included some pics for your perusal.

Does it take a genius to see that this is an attempt to sell chess stuff?

I don't get it? Isn't that what a chess retailer and also in this case a supplier/manufacturer suppose to do?

Like other serious collectors, we share our likes and dislikes of sets in these forums so that if a collector wants to buy a particular set, he can make an informed decision. I am not an agent of CB, just an avid collector sharing his love for chess sets. CB doesn't need me to sell  its wonderful sets. It doesn't take a genius to realise this, so I'm  happy to inform you that henceforth,  you and your dumb comments have been blocked

This guy went and reposted this thread to the mods and stated he is 100% sure it is spam an atempt to seel products.  Do you think the mods that are that unintelligent to beleive such drivel?

So I been staring at this set for 2 weeks now and the day came about 4 hours ago that I am a proud owner. The wider bases, the taller rook I like. The quality is fantastic, the carvings, the turning, the finishing, the woods used all weigh in to make this set very undervalued.  Not one cracked base or damaged piece.  Each & every piece was wrapped in foam.  That is soemthing no one else does unless I haven't bought from someone who also takes the time to check every piece and wrap them securly in a thin foam.

The weighting is perfect, not so lunky and not so light to be top heavy.

My opinion it is a steal for $161.99. If you ever find this set discounted even $20 jump on it.

Oh and by the way I ordered this set on this past Sunday Night CT and received it today, Wednesday at 11 AM CT.  How is that for service from India?  A fact, faster than most domestic resellers can ship.

Its a nice set for those that like the 4" King size. CB does nice work on the Sheesham wood sets. I wish they would do a dark walnut stain for the Dubrovnik set..!
