Dvoretsky's Endgame Manual missing blue text

I just bought the 4th edition of this book. One of the main reasons was because I'd read about the blue text which covers about 200 of the most important positions to learn first and I could read the entire book on a second pass. However the book appears to be in black and white and I don't see any blue.

This is quite frustrating, anyone know what is up? Or anyone with a book with blue: is there any way to tell what is blue besides it being blue (like bold?).

On page 17 of my copy, a blue passage (a number of blue paragraphs) starts with, "Key Squares are what we call those squares whose ...". I do not see anything else that signals those paragraphs as blue stuff. My guess is that you will want to return the book and ask for a replacement, but you might want to check and make sure that you are not having a problem with your own color perception. At least for me, the blue is a little hard to perceive.

Thanks kindaspongey, that particular paragraph starts of bold in my book too, I'm guessing yours is too, but not all blue text is bold right?

I've checked with my girlfriend and she couldn't see the difference either, neither of us have any known color deficiencies.

Actually now that it is daytime I can see it in the sunlight, so I'll probably go through and highlight the blue when I have daytime for later use.

Thanks!

I also need strong light. I think that I might have seen a previous complaint about this somewhere.

@fourthirds -

I have a brand new, never-used copy of the book with the blue text - which I find difficult to read.  If your copy does not have the blue text (i.e., all the text is black & white) I would be happy to trade with you.  (But from your post #4, it sounds like you have determined that your copy does in fact have the blue text).
