If I had a favorite piece, it's (gasp) the Knight, but as you have to be able to adapt to players targeting your "favorite" or just eliminating the piece they consider to be their nemesis, I try to depend on no one piece or strategy. Of course, that doesn't always help...

What is your favourite peice? is a question in the voteing bit of this here website. Yup, so far the knight did have the most votes.
I was looking at the real fancy dan chess boards (Staunton) and you can get ones with happy/placid knights, or ones that look like they've left the iron on and burnt down their stable.
Being in the Boungcloud society makes my answer obvious: A king. Many people underestimate the power of a king in the opening and middlegame, and think that the only has strength in the endgame. They couldn't be more wrong! One should be wary of the moxin anti-boungcloud, though, as it will give your opponent a dangerously high chance of winning. However, with proper play, black will crumble anyways, just surviving for an extra couple of turn. 1.e4 e5 2.Ke2 solves chess!

Mine is the bishop because it is a special piece in my game plan!!
