im a somewhat advanced beginner and I'm trying to find a chess book that is actually fun to read and learn off of, specifically one that can help improve my middlegame because i feel like some books are just giving me random positions and telling me to find the answer myself but maybe im just not smart enough and maybe i need to work on something else, but anyways any advice is accepted and thanks

It goes without saying, that what is fun for some may may not be for others.....i.e., it's subjective...

thank you for the list i found it really helpful, but if you were to choose a favorite which one would that be? and thank you again for the list.

You're welcome. Although I have no one "favorite" book, there are some books which I feel would be particularly helpful for their intended purpose and audience. For example, for the beginner-novice looking to build a solid foundation in middle-game play (i.e., strategy, planning and fundamental positional chess concepts and technique) I would recommend starting with these two excellent books, which I comment on further in the following article...

Play Winning Chess by Yasser Seirawan

Weapons of Chess by Bruce Pandolfini
